The cast of Riverdale appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Tuesday night and played “Search Party” against Miley Cyrus and her family. They discussed various Riverdale things, drank milkshakes and shared plenty of laughs. Though all of this is great, fans honed in on Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse (otherwise known as Betty and Jughead), who are reportedly a couple on- and off-screen. What one viewer noticed during Fallon just goes to show that passionate fans don’t miss a beat.
Cole and Lili didn’t sit or stand together the entire time they were on the late-night show, which is a little sad to hear. But don’t panic just yet. In one small moment that only an eagle-eyed Sprousehart fan would catch, it looks like Lili and Cole hugged each other as the show was going to commercial. Thanks to a slo-mo video posted by a fan account, it’s easier to see what’s going on. I choose to believe that this embrace proves their love is alive, no matter how private they try to keep it.
Thank goodness for diehard fans who are dedicated to Riverdale and Lili and Cole’s alleged relationship. Their willingness to go to these lengths to prove they’re a couple despite their public body language is honestly sweet.
I can totally understand wanting to be professional, but watching Cole hug Lili when he thought no one was watching is beyond satisying.
