In a new interview with Glamour, This Is Us actress Chrissy Metz gives fans some major insight into the personal struggles she dealt with before finding success with the NBC drama, saying that she had a mere 81 cents to her name before finally booking a role on the show.
The actress, who had previously had a small part on American Horror Story: Freak Show, speaks openly in the interview about the struggles of finding work as an actor. Deciding to take her mother’s advice to keep at it, Chrissy continued to audition despite her overwhelming financial struggles.
Of her near-empty bank account (which tbh, same), Chrissy says, “I could cry right now just thinking about it.”
Looks like her hard work has truly paid off, as the actress claims that “getting the role of Kate changed everything.”
