Chloë Grace Moretz Takes On Body-Shaming Internet Trolls

Chloë Grace Moretz has always been outspoken about her thoughts on everything from feminism to celebrity squads. At only 19 years old, the young actress is proving that she’s wise beyond her years, serving as a great role model for girls. Seriously, we need more outspoken and educated people like Chloë in the world. And when she’s not busy filming a movie or giving her opinion on politics, she’s also showing that she has absolutely no time for Internet trolls—especially those who body shame others.

It’s no secret that the increased popularity of social media has led to an unacceptable amount of cyberbullying. Every day, you’re likely to see a negative comment posted online, whether you’re scrolling through Twitter or Instagram. Celebrities like Chloë have experienced their fair share of public scrutiny, but the rude messages directed toward these stars are beyond offensive. Being in the industry for several years now, Chloë has reached her limit on the negativity and is letting everyone know that body shaming isn’t acceptable on any level.

During a Twitter rant, Chloë voiced her disgust over people who judge others from behind the protection of their computers. “When will people hiding behind computer screens get tired of calling someone ‘fat’ or ‘masculine,'” she wrote. “Does it make you feel good typing your hateful comments? Does it fulfill you in some dark way?”

“Sit back before you fire away commenting ignorant things and imagine the real HUMAN BEING you are commenting about,” she continued. “He or she is a PERSON, with feelings and thoughts and a life that you are affecting so negatively.”

Chloë wrapped up with a powerful call to action: “I’ve spent my whole life in front of cameras growing up with miscellaneous people judging and critiquing every little thing about myself…and it’s time we all stop hiding behind keyboards pretending we know even the smallest thing about the people we judge.”

The starlet also made sure that she ended her brilliant rant on a positive note.
