This ‘Bridget Jones’ Diary’-Inspired Trump Parody Twitter is a Thing & It’s Hilarious

If anything good has come out of this rather, um, difficult election season and subsequent transition of power from President Obama to President-Elect Trump, it’s the abundance of Internet humor that has resulted from it. (Biden memes anyone?) And in case you needed something to make you laugh as we approach inauguration day, this “Bridget Trump’s Diary” Twitter account has you covered.

The parody account (@BRIDGETTRUMPSD1) combines one of our go-to chick flicks, Bridget Jones’ Diary, and the tweets of the president-elect, and imagines what Trump’s tweets might sound like if they were written by the hilarious, relateable Bridget Jones. Did we mention the avatar is none other than a photoshopped picture of Donald Trump’s head on Bridget’s body? The results are too good to be true:

According to Mashable, the genius behind this hilarious is comedian Tiff Stevenson, who got the idea for the account after noticing similarities between PEOTUS and rom-com heroine Bridget Jones. From there, she started turning Trump’s tweets into “entries” from Bridget’s diary in the movie.

“There are so many parallels between Bridget and Donald,” Stevenson told Mashable. “They are both utterly consumed with how people see them and they are constantly chasing after the wrong guy.”

We can’t argue with that. Of course, there is the whole difference in the likeability factor between the two – and TBH, our girl Bridget definitely has Trump beat there.
