Ashley Graham Spoke Up For Curvy Girls at the Miss USA Pageant

Model Ashley Graham was the backstage host for the Miss USA pageant where it was her duty to get the candid words of the contestants as they went on and off of the big stage. However, the “Toothbrush” star used her spotlight to petition for plus-sized women.

As the final 15 contestants were walking off of the stage from the swimsuit portion of the competition, Graham spoke about the common fear that showing yourself off in a swimsuit can bring. But, what made us give major props to the model was a statement she made as she prepared for an interview.

“Pageants now, I’m hoping are going to start putting curvy and plus-size women in front of the camera,” said Graham.

This isn’t the first time Graham has spoken up for her fellow plus-sized women.

In an interview with People earlier this year, Graham discussed how she refused to lose weight despite her agency’s demands.

Graham said, “I was peaking at a size 18 and in the plus size fashion industry, models go from a size 8 to a size 16/18. So if you’re on the smaller size or the bigger size, you’re not going to work as much in the middle.”

As body positivity continues to take over, we’re sending major snaps to ladies like Ashley Graham who continue to show society that every body is beautiful.
