Can you believe that before 2012, we were not aware of how beautiful Anna Kendrick’s singing voice is, or how entertaining it is to put “aca” at the beginning of words?
Well, since 2012, Pitch Perfect has become a global hit with a third movie set to be released next year. But despite its amazing acapella covers and hilarious dialogue, star Anna Kendrick was not sure the movie was going to be a success.
During an interview with NBC News’ Sunday Today, Kendrick admitted, “When I read the script, I was so expecting it to be something I’d seen before.” She continued to describe her low expectations, saying, “I was just hoping a couple nerds would really like it.”
It’s safe to say a lot more than a few “nerds” enjoy watching this film. “I think it was a real testament to the nerdery that exists in the world,” she said.
