Angelina Jolie is Teaching a Course on Violence Against Women

Professor Angelina Jolie?

In a statement to the Huffington Post, the superstar actress and special envoy for the U.N. refugee agency (UNHCR) announced that she would be teaching a new master’s course on women, peace, and security at the London School of Economics starting next year.

She will be working alongside William Hague, Britain’s former foreign secretary and Jolie’s co-founder of the LSE Centre for Women, Peace, and Security.

Jolie was firm about her goals for the course. “It is vital that we broaden the discussion on how to advance women’s rights and end impunity for crimes that disproportionately affect women, such as sexual violence in conflict,” she said in a statement. “I am looking forward to teaching and to learning from the students, as well as to sharing my own experiences of working alongside governments and the United Nations.”

Both Hague and Jolie will be joining the London School of Economics as visiting professors.

We’re psyched that the groundbreaking power duo is bringing attention to subject that has been overlooked for far too long. Now, how do we sign up for classes at the LSE?
