The ’90s Drama ‘Party of Five’ is Getting a Reboot With an Immigration Twist & I Can’t Wait

If you’ve never watched the 1990s family drama Party of Five, drop everything now and head over to Hulu or Netflix — not only because it’s a great show, but because it’s coming back!

Variety confirmed on Thursday that Freeform put in a pilot order for a reboot of the show, with its original creators, Chris Keyser and Amy Lippman, set to write and produce.

The plot won’t be quite the same, though.

In the original Party of Five, the Salinger siblings (yes, five of them) are forced to raise themselves after their parents are killed in a car accident.

In the reboot, a new set of five siblings will also have to raise themselves — this time, because their parents are suddenly deported back to Mexico.

There’s no news on a cast yet, but the original is going to be hard to beat. Party of Five launched the careers of Jennifer Love Hewitt, Neve Campbell, Matthew Fox, Lacey Chabert and Scott Wolf.

No matter what, though, I can’t wait!
