How to Make DIY Mason Jar Snow Globes

The holidays are just around the corner, collegiettes! Decorating for the holidays shouldn’t have to break the bank—why not make your own seasonal decor with materials you probably already have laying around your dorm or apartment?

Today, we’re going to show you how to make a super simple (super cheap!) mason jar snowglobe that would make a perfect gift for anybody on your list, or an adorable decoration in your own living space.

What you’ll need:

  • Hot glue gun and glue or super glue
  • Mason jar
  • Chunky glitter
  • Water
  • Christmas decorations

Step One:

Glue three ball ornaments together with hot or super glue. Let the glue dry completely.

You can skip this step if you plan on using something other than Christmas ball ornaments. For instance, I used miniature Christmas trees in a different jar and just glued those straight to the lid.

Also, instead of gluing the ornaments together, you can let them float around seperately inside the mason jar like this

Step Two:

Glue the ornaments to the lid of the jar. Let the glue dry completely.

Step Three:

Fill the jar with water and chunky glitter. Screw on the lid and shake.

This super cute and easy DIY project will make for the perfect gift and holiday decoration! Keep it in mind for other holidays and special occasions, too—it’s easy to switch out Christmas ornaments with mini-pumpkins, Easter eggs, etc.

Happy crafting, collegiettes!
