For nearly 25 years, this month has been recognized to raise awareness of the disease and raise funds for research. With a 12% chance of developing the disease, it is one of the most important health issues women face.
Pink is the official color for the month of October, which is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month—it’s visible everywhere from pink ribbons on campus to beauty products at the mall, all benefiting breast cancer research.
