Cool. Valentine’s Day is coming. The day that all the super cute couples get to run around in a mad, googley-eyed frenzy. The day cupid takes out one too many of his damn arrows and stabs hopeful girls all over, giving them ultimate joy and happiness. Do I sound bitter? I really hope not. The last thing I want to be is an annoying negative girl. I just have to say that I think Valentine’s Day kind of really sucks. To me, I see it like that time of year when single girls have to ask themselves “is Hallmark really trying to torture me?” So when all the cute couples have been at the malls buying each other cute things for their cute Februaury 14th outing, it’s going to be just a regular day for me. No big deal. I am by no means the hopeless romantic. The type of girl that has looked for her soul mate, high and low, and has now completely given up on finding them. You know, the girl who sits around waiting for her uber sexy prince charming Hollywood box-office-hunk-a-lunk to wipe her off her feet. The chick that believes there are really Chad Michael Murray’s and Shane West’s in this world. Truth is, I’m pretty realistic about my love life. Or should I say my lack thereof. I know that everyone will find his or her true love one day. I just feel like mine will be playing hide-and-seek with me. Like a long game of duck-duck-goose. Except for MY man will never turn out to be the goose. Its rather weird, I am usually pretty hopeful about love; I really, really am. Maybe, just maybe, my heart is a little bit broken right now and I’m too prideful to admit it. Have I really not had the time to notice? Whoever did this better sure as hell figure out how to make it better because mi Corazon’s got a “you break it, you buy it” policy! Maybe I’m just feeling bad for myself. Or maybe I’m just confused. Whatever I may or may not be, I know for sure that V-day is no day for me. At least not right now. Not until I figure out who came into my store and broke my porcelain china of a heart. And then left without paying.

Shouldn’t we be loving our significant others everyday? Should February 14th really be some special day where people overdose on KC and Jojo songs and give each other corny chocolate gifts?

Maybe in the next few weeks, I’ll learn to manage the whole Valentine’s Day thing. But for now, I think I’m ready to go out and say that it completely blows. And on February 14th, it’s going to be a plain ol’ Sunday for me.
