Watching sophomore Matt Schaefer perform is like seeing Peter Pan fly. His hands sparkle, his face lights up, and every once in awhile the twinkle of a giggle emits underneath the catchy iPod commercial pop music.
What does he do in his delightful show? It doesn’t have anything to do with his major in creative writing, or his minors in design and advertising.
Shani Shousterman shakes her head vigorously at the mention of Lady Gaga. She is no shiny, leotard-clad glamazon with a microphone strapped to her head. She prefers the piano, the guitar and sometimes, the saxophone. She does confess, though: Her guilty pop music pleasure is Taylor Swift.
Yuri Nagle sits comfortably in plaid shorts and a T-shirt while students around him swaddle themselves in baggy hoodies and scarves. The reason for Nagle’s hardy attitude to weather? Well, he’s from the chilly halibut fishing capital of the world.
