Who: Students able to receive school credit and work two full days per week over December and January.
Location: New York City

About: Work in Redbook’s features department by assisting in research, pitching story ideas and writing small articles. Familiarity with Lexis Nexis and having an interest in lifestyle, health, relationships, and entertainment is a plus.

9. SightUnseen.com Editorial Internship
Who: Student reporters and writers with an interest in online media.
Location: New York City

About: The online magazine is currently seeking an editorial intern to work 1-2 days per week until the end of 2011. Duties include trolling for story ideas, research, interviews, transcribing, fact-checking, and the potential to have your work published on Sight Unseen. Intern may also be asked to do research for other projects the editors are involved in.

Compensation: $40 stipend per full day of work.

10. Jacob’s Pillow Performing Arts Internship
Who: College students in good academic standing.
Location: Becket, MA

About: Jacob's Pillow Dance, a highly acclaimed center for performing arts, is currently accepting applications for winter interns to work with their staff in areas of archives/preservation, artist services,business, education,fundraisings, graphic design, public relations and marketing. You can design your own internship structure whilegaining a hands-on experience at an international arts organization and a broad perspective on arts administration, the dance field, and dance history.
Deadline: Rolling basis
Compensation: School credit
