Here’s Proof of Just How All-Natural Lush Beauty Products Really Are

Natural, organic beauty has been all the rage lately. And there’s nothing as natural as Lush—everything is handmade and totally fresh.

Well, we just got our look at just how fresh these products are. After purchasing the Wiccy Magic Massage Bar ($11.95) from Lush, many customers have posted photos on social media about plants growing from their sinks and shower drains.

The culprit? Aduki beans, the red pieces on the surface of the bar, which claim to offer a satisfaction comparable to receiving a fingertip massage. The beans are popular in Asian cuisine, but the moist and dark space of a drain offers the legumes the perfect amount of breathing room to set up shop in your shower.

According to the Lush website, the bar offers “a sensation of peppermint and cinnamon spice oils which make the skin feel warm and tingly.” It is designed to loosen up tight muscles and stimulate circulation.

Lush co-founder Helen Ambrosen told Refinery29 that the brand “uses organic aduki beans to create a texture in the massage bar” in order for the small bead-like shapes to massage your aching muscles. “In order for the beans to germinate, they must have been left in the shower for a few days. The results you get just go to show how fresh the ingredients really are” she said.

Well, if we were ever skeptical about how natural Lush products really are, this definitely shows us what we need to see!
