Earth Lovers: Spring is Here!

This is a sponsored feature. All opinions are 100% from Her Campus.

Hi Earthlings! I mean, Earth Lovers…

First of all, I just want to say I’m so sorry that I haven’t updated you on my Three-Minute Shower Challenge in a couple of days – I’ve been so busy! Yes, even with the extra minutes my life has gained from taking shorter showers, I still didn’t have time to blog… Fail!

That said, here’s the 3-minute songs I’ve been listening to for my showers the last few days:

Wednesday: Some Postman – Presidents of the United States of America
Thursday: Shake It – Metro Station
Today (unfortunately, Rebecca Black’s song is over 3-minutes long…): Hounds of Love – The Futureheads

So, yes, if you were wondering – my Three-Minute Shower Challenge has continued to be a success! I did have to shave my legs yesterday, though, which I thought would add time to my shower. But, instead, I took Her Campus Co-Founder Windsor’s tip (watch her shower-shortening tips video here) and shaved my legs in my bathroom sink! It was a little bit tricky trying to balance, and it took a little bit longer than it would’ve in the shower, but it used up way less water, and that’s what counts!

One of the reasons I’ve been so busy this week actually has to do with this challenge… somewhat.

Last night, I competed in the First Annual Miss Emerson Pageant (I didn’t win, but that’s ok…). And my talent was…

Vlogging! a.k.a. Video Blogging… and I vlogged live onstage about the Three-Minute Shower Challenge! I wore my bathrobe, and told the story of the first time I vlogged in the shower, which was really the story of how I slipped and fell on my butt, injuring my shoulder, knee, and tailbone… Yes, vlogging can be dangerous! haha. But I made sure to tell everyone in the audience that it IS possible to take a 3-minute shower, and that they should do it too! I even recorded my onstage vlog, so I’ll post that video soon! (but you can watch my last vlog, live from the rainforests of Costa rica here!)

Today I am extra hopeful about being able to take 3-minute showers because…

SPRING IS HERE!!

Spring in Boston!

I could not be more excited… it is finally sunny in Boston, and, yes, it’s only 42 degrees outside right now, but the sun is shining, and it’s not snowing or raining, so I am happy! And how does that relate to shorter showering? Because, for me, my longest showers happen when I’ve just come inside from the cold weather. When it’s snowing or raining outside, or just being super cold and windy, then I always want to come inside and thaw myself off with a nice long and warm shower. But that clearly is not conducive to the Three-Minute Shower Challenge! So for all of you who like to take those thaw-out showers, you are in luck, because it’s not cold outside anymore, so you can go back to taking your quick Spring and Summer showers! Woo!

How are your 3-minute showers going? How cold/warm is it where you live? Is it Spring there yet??
