I remember my own experience with a bully: a guy I was with screaming at me for not wanting to spend $60 on a club cover charge (I then left and don’t have to see him anymore—definitely one of the perks of adulthood.)
But I can’t imagine what being a kid is like in today’s digital world. With Formspring, Facebook, and Twitter, kids have no shortage of platforms to be cruel. And they are: 160,000 students will stay home from school today out of fear. We’ve got a seriously sad situation on our hands, but thankfully people from Hillary Clinton to Justin Timberlake are speaking out against bullying.
Tanda, the company that keeps our complexions acne-free (by knocking out bacteria with a high-tech light) is upping the ante. Simply “Like” their Facebook page and then click “Vote to Zap Bullying,” and a dollar will be donated to STOMP Out Bullying. That’s something to tell all your friends about.
