#ManiMonday Sorority Edition: Sigma Kappa

It’s been a while, but it’s finally time for another sorority nail art tutorial. Sigma Kappa ladies, keep reading to find out how to create a totally adorable, fun and ridiculously easy mani that all of your sisters will love!

Sigma Kappa’s colors are lavender and maroon, so we’re using OPI You’re Such A Budapest ($7.17) and Sally Hansen Hard As Nails in Flirt ($3). The only tool you’ll need for this look is a wedge makeup sponge, so be sure to have one handy.

Create the base of your manicure by painting every nail with the lavender polish. Use as many layers as you need to create an opaque base.

Next, we will create an ombré design on our nails so they fade from lavender to maroon. Begin by painting a streak of each polish side by side on a paper plate, like we’ve done below. Dip your makeup sponge into the colors. Gently begin dabbing the sponge on your nail. To make sure there isn’t a solid line separating the colors, move the sponge up and down as you dab, so that the colors blend well. Don’t worry if it creates a mess on your fingers—you’ll clean it up a little later.

Do this on every nail except the ring finger. Since a heart is one of Sigma Kappa’s symbols, we will draw one on the ring finger using the maroon polish. Using a toothpick, carefully draw the outline of a heart.

To finish, you’ll just need to clean up any excess polish. Take a cotton swab, dip it into nail polish remover, and gently scrub away the polish around your nails.

And there you have it, collegiettes—a beautiful mani perfect for any Sigma Kappa girl!
