I am a lipstick junkie. Hot pink, cherry red, nude, coral, mauve—you name it, I own at least three tubes. But I haven’t owned a lip gloss since a traumatic gooey-gloss-meets-frizzy-hair episode circa seventh grade, and I
figured a Beauty School post was a good an excuse as any to re-familiarize myself with the high-shine lip color! I chose Sephora’s Ultra Shine Lip Gloss for the experiment.
Imbued with a “multi-holographic” shimmer formula, Ultra Shine Lip Gloss comes in three versions: ultra-opalescent Reflex, opalescent Shimmeryand non-opalescent Shine. For my foray, I opted for the medium opalescent Shimmery in an oh-so-trendy tangerine shade, Orange Juice.
I instantly fell in love with the unsticky, moisturizing gloss and its show-stopping shine. The shade was less citrus-y than it appeared in the bottle, but it still provided a pretty pop of color perfect for spring. I can’t wait to explore one of the other 26 hues now that I’ve overcome my glossphobia!
