Finals are right around the corner and for most of us, that means staying up later than usual and getting up way, way earlier than we’d prefer. The extreme lack of sleep will have your skin looking dry and worn out, but have no worry. Here are Her Campus, we’ve got some amazing tips to keep you looking refreshed, energized and totally awake, even after you’ve pulled an all-nighter (or three) because the last thing you want to hear is, “You look tired…”

1. A splash of cold water

Skin feeling puffy when you first get up in the morning? While you’re running around getting ready, stick two spoons in the freezer. The spoon trick works way better than the frozen cucumber or potato trick. Press the back part of the spoon to your eyes to reduce puffiness then splash some cold water on your face before applying your makeup to wake up the entirety of your face. Don’t forget an eyecream, like Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream ($30) to help depuff and keep those eyes looking awake!

2. Morning facial

Improving the blood circulation in your face is another way to awaken your skin. One way to do that is by massaging your face—which is a great way to start the day with a DIY facial. Massage a small amount of a lightweight oil, like Josie Maran 100 percent Pure Argan Oil Light ($16 for 0.5 oz) which is perfect for dry and oily skin alike, to your cheeks, temples and nose bridge to give your face a natural glow.

3. Moisturize

Moisturizer gives your face a fresh dose of life. For those days you need an extra oomph factor, use a moisturizer with caffeine to give your face an extra boost. Try out Origins GinZing Energy-Boosting Moisturizer ($26.50.)

4. Illuminate

Speaking of a natural glow, here’s another great tip. One handy makeup product to always have? Illuminator. Mix a little bit in your moisturizer or foundation for a simple pick-me-up that your face deserves. Aim for a golden-peach glow, such as NARS The Multiple in South Beach ($39), to brighten up your whole face. Add a little bit to your cheekbones and nose bridge to make them pop. For an added bit of color, use a soft pink, like Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Dollface or True Love ($26), on the apples of your cheek and then go over it with a light bronzer to add lift to your face.

5. Conceal

Possibly the most self-explanatory concept, but it does not hurt to stress how far a little bit of concealer can go. Conceal everything and anything, especially the bags underneath your eyes. A personal favorite is a concealer that luminizes and conceals, such as Yves Saint Laurent TOUCHE ÉCLAT Radiant Touch ($41).

6. Bright eyes

Forget what you’ve been told about white eyeliner: nude is the new white. Using a beige color, like Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Inner Rim Liner ($19), will give you a more natural look. Use a similar and shimmery colored eyeshadow in the inner corner of your eyes and use a round fluffy brush to blend it towards your eyelids. For extra brightening, use a light metallic gold color on your lids and amp up the mascara, which will help widen your eyes.

7. Lipstick

Lack of sleep affects all aspects of your face, including your lips. To give them a plumper look, use a natural shade such Tarte LipSurgence Lip Tint in Grateful, a rosy nude ($24). Using a dark color can add years to your face and can also draw attention to dark circles that you forgot to conceal and highlight. If you’re running short on time and you don’t have time to perfect the wide-eye look, go straight to the lips. Fuschia will do wonders on all skintones. Try out MAKE UP FOR EVER Rouge Artist Intense in 36 ($20). Additionally, the bright shade will pull attention away from your face and towards your lips.

What do you think, collegiettes? What other tips do you use to fake a full night’s sleep?
