7 Drugstore Products with SPF to Incorporate Into Your Routine Now

For most collegiettes, SPF is a total must for summer days spent lounging on the beach or by the pool, but what happens when things start to cool off? While some collegiettes continue to use sun protection all year round, others stop using a sunscreen once they head back to school. Even though summer is officially over (as of today!), it’s important to use SPF every single day to protect your skin from the sun, even in the fall and winter months.

Not only does sun exposure increase your chances of skin cancer, it also can cause pigmentation and dark spots as well as premature aging and wrinkles, and no one wants that! But you don’t have to slather your face in greasy sunscreen to stay safe from the sun, especially with all of the amazing beauty and makeup products on the market. Incorporate some of these products into your daily routine now and you’ll be safe from the sun no matter the season!

1. Moisturizer

You probably already use moisturizer daily, so why not swap it out for this Aveeno Daily Moisturizer with SPF 15 ($17.49 at Ulta)? This product not only protects your skin from the sun, but also boosts radiance for a lit-from-within glow.

2. BB Cream

If you’re not into the full-on foundation look, a BB (or beauty balm) cream could be perfect. This Maybelline Dream Fresh BB 8-in-1 Beauty Balm Skin Perfector with SPF 30 ($7.19 at Drugstore) has some serious sun protection and also blurs out any imperfections and evens out your skin tone with light, sheer coverage that doesn’t look or feel heavy on the skin.

3. Powder

For girls with combination to oily skin, the Physician’s Formula Super BB All-in-1 Beauty Balm Powder with SPF 30 ($13.99 at CVS) is a great option. This powder can be worn alone to even out your skin tone or can be used to touch up foundation throughout the day, keeping oil at bay and giving you the bonus of SPF 30 protection.

4. Lip Balm

Trust us when we say that there are few things worse than having sunburnt lips. The Nivea A Kiss of Protection Lip Care with SPF 30 ($3.19 at Walgreens) will protect your lips from the sun and also give you a serious dose of moisture, perfect for the drying winter months.

5. Foundation

If you’re more of a full-face-of-makeup gal, the cult favorite L’Oreal True Match Super-Blendable Makeup Foundation with SPF 17 ($10.99 at Rite-Aid) is a great choice. This foundation comes in an endless variety of colors with options for warm, cool and neutral undertones and offers SPF 17 protection, perfect for bright autumn days.

6. Concealer

If you’re blessed with runway-ready skin and only need a bit of concealer under your eyes or on blemishes, the Revlon PhotoReady Concealer with SPF 20 ($10.49 at Ulta) should be all you need on top of a moisturizer with SPF. This one by Revlon is highly pigmented so you only need the tiniest bit to create a flawless face.

7. Primer

If you plan on wearing your makeup all day, a primer is a good product to use underneath your makeup to keep it in place and looking fresh. The Neutrogena Healthy Skin Primer with SPF 15 ($13.99 at CVS) is lightweight and great for layering under makeup and gives your skin a dewy finish while still protecting you from the sun.

With so many amazing and affordable options for beauty and makeup products with SPF built in, you’ll never have to worry about whether you’re protected from the sun again. Start incorporating a few of these products into your daily routine now (don’t forget to reapply throughout the day!), and your future self will thank you for your healthy, happy skin.
