Have you ever lusted after one of the Kardashians’ gorgeous, detailed dresses? Well, there’s a good chance that that gorgeous, dreamy dress was a Balmain, according to Allure. Balmain is an incredibly elusive French brand that is sported by many of Hollywood’s most fashionable celebrities. I, like many other fans, would trade my right arm for one of these pricey designs, since they are way out of the average student’s budget. Luckily for us, there will soon be an easier, cheaper way to get our hands on a part of the brand.
Olivier Rousteing, Balmain’s creative director recently announced an unexpected collaboration between the brand and your favorite drugstore makeup line… L’Oréal! The collab will include twelve different lipsticks, categorized into three different “themes” that are all in the brand’s iconic and beloved Color Riche formula. The most exciting news? Not only did Rousteing have a say in the color selection of the lipstick itself, but he designed the tube casing for it as well. So while you might not be wearing a Balmain dress, you can still feel like a million bucks toting around one of their beautifully designed pieces of makeup. While I can presume that we’ll have to wait a fair bit longer before the unveiling of the final product, you can be sure that the results will be stunning. Balmain is known for its attention to detail, so I’m excited to see how this will translate into the design of the final product!
If you’re like me, you’re probably already itching to get your hands on this collection. Starting in September, these lipsticks will be available in any store that already sells the L’Oréal Paris collection. The “jewel edition” of these tubes will be available in Balmain stores, and the entire collection will be sold during Paris Fashion Week. As much as I would love to be able to jet off to Paris to score one of these exclusive lipsticks, for the price of the trip I might as well just purchase an actual Balmain dress.
Rousteing expressed his excitement for the upcoming collaboration, stating, “L’Oréal Paris and Balmain share the same strong vision of femininity and the same goal, to empower women and offer them diverse ways to express themselves. With this collaboration, I’m thrilled to make this idea tangible for every woman around the world.”
Trust me… I’m pretty thrilled with this news too! Even though the school year just ended, and I don’t even want to think about studying or the start of another semester for at least a few more months, this collaboration is giving us all something to look forward to in September, that may just have us counting down the days of summer.
