3 Beauty Looks to Complement Kylie’s Matte Metallic Lip Colors

Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, you know about all the hype surrounding Kylie Jenner and her beauty line, Kylie Cosmetics. Her OG product line-up featured her covetable Lip Kits, sets including a liquid lipstick and a corresponding lip liner. Then, she designed three custom neutral lip glosses.

Her latest release comes just in time for Coachella—three metallic lip kit colors—called Reign, King K and Heir. Although an official release date hasn’t been confirmed, we’re guessing it’ll be this week, especially given Kylie’s hints about how the shades are inspired by Coachella.

If you’re lucky enough to snag one of Kylie’s newest lip kits, here are three beauty looks you can create using each of the colors.

Reign

Named in honor of Kylie’s adorable nephew, Reign is a deep-red toned copper shade designed to give you the confidence you need to #slay.

As seen here on Jordyn Woods, there is a lot of variety when it comes to how you incorporate Reign into your beauty routine.

To get this look, use a deep purple eyeliner (Sephora Collection Retractable Waterproof Eyeliner in Matte Deep Plum, $12) to perfect your go-to cat eye. Then, highlight your lower lash line with a shimmery peach shade (Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Freelove, $19) to perk up your eyes in time for class.

As a final touch, apply your favorite foundation and highlighter and let the stunning copper lip color shine.

King K

With a name inspired by Kylie herself, there is no room for self-doubt if you decide to rock this royal pure gold.

For instant edge, apply King K and keep the rest of your makeup simple. Since your lips will be the star of the show, use a lightweight BB cream (Maybelline Dream Fresh, $8.99) to even out your complexion and fill in your brows with a brow crayon (Maybelline Eyestudio Pomade Crayon, $9.99) for extra definition.

The models who walked the spring 2016 Prada runway showed us exactly how this look is done. This shade might not be super practical for everyday life on campus, but we can definitely picture wearing it to turn heads at major events.

Heir

The most conservative shade of the three, Heir is a stunning rose-gold shade. Since the color is so versatile and is more neutral, it’s easy to transition from day to night.

To spice up the rest of your look, create a simple smoky eye with a gray eyeshadow (Urban Decay Moondust Eyeshadow in Intergalatic, $21) and black eyeliner (Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Perversion, $20). This will complement the lip color without letting it take a back seat entirely.

As a finishing touch, apply a light stroke of a peach-toned highlighter (Becca x Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop, $38) for an effortless glow that will add to the overall glamour of this look.
