Bar Scene: Downtown Clemson5/1/2012 |
For those who are rapidly turning 21 (or are anxiously awaiting the joyous holiday), the world of downtown Clemson is definitely an exciting adventure. People that don’t go to Clemson and have never been DT might laugh at it, often calling it small, boring, and even lame. A Collegiette's Guide to Music Festivals4/10/2012 |
You’ve probably already heard people talking about them… "Are you hitting up the Roo this year?" "Wanna go to Hangout?" "Are you tryin' to make Feel Good?" Without previous exposure to or experience with music festivals, these questions could be confused for daily convos regarding plans for the night or potential pick-up lines. However, once you’ve entered the world of music festivals, it is easy to figure out when someone is talking about an upcoming festival. As music festivals are currently a pretty big deal with most college students, you should at least enrich your vocabulary with a little of the lingo so you don’t look stupid in front of that cute, effortlessly cool guy in your Environmental Science class. |
Her Campus Approved: Blueberry Frog3/13/2012 |
With Spring Break in just under a week, it may be about time for you to hit up some healthy treats---especially those located in Clemson’s own downtown! Have you ever heard of Blueberry Frog? Well, even if you’re a regular at this frozen yogurt shop, here’s some interesting info that many people don’t know. Blueberry Frog was the first frozen yogurt shop in South Carolina, originally only located in downtown Greenville. Obviously, fro-yo is a trendy and popular snack, but Blueberry Frog’s incredibly fresh and nourishing product makes it unique from other fro-yo stores. Weighing in at just 106 calories per small cup (and trust me, a small is a lot), you can have your toppings and eat them too- but really, say you read about Blueberry Frog on Her Campus and you get free toppings! All of the flavors are organic and made in the store. Sometimes yogurt sits on the shelf for months before it is distributed, but Blueberry Frog guarantees that their yogurt is made fresh daily. In addition, all of the flavors (except peanut butter) are gluten-free and all contain probiotics. Yogurt has wonderful digestive qualities and fills you up much quicker than other sweet treats. |
Mardi Gras 2012: If you can't Make Nola, Fake Nola!2/21/2012 |
In case you weren’t aware, the term Mardi Gras actually means 'Fat Tuesday,' which notoriously marks the day before Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent. Obviously, during Lent, many believers of the Christian faith give something up (often meat on Fridays and perhaps a favorite food or habit) in order to honor the season. Therefore, Fat Tuesday is the last day to consume/partake in this item/event for an entire six weeks. |
