Madison Forever 5k

JMU’s Co-Ed Community Service Fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega, is working to raise money for the Madison Forever Fund. Madison Forever Fund developed after Madison For Keeps dissolved, primarily to help pay tuition for students who suddenly cannot afford it. Come participate in the 5k run on March 25th at 10am beginning on the Festival lawn to help every Duke stay a Duke! Check out the Facebookevent for more information!

Carrie Kutner Field Day

Join JMU’s Student Ambassadors for their annual Carrie Kutner Field Day Tournament on March 24th on the UREC Turf from 11am to 3pm. Carrie Kutner was a JMU Student Ambassador in 1994-1995 until she tragically lost her battle with cancer. In her honor, get eight of your friends together and reminisce the days of elementary school by playing games such as an egg spoon race, a water balloon toss, and everyone’s favorite game: Ships and Sailors. Proceeds benefit the Carrie Kutner Scholarship. For more information, check out the Facebook event!

This year, about 5,000 people will head to our campus on Monday, February 20th to explore the place we call home. Be prepared for a busy, tour-filled day and make sure you make these visitors feel welcomed, collegiettes! Go Dukes!!

Join one of JMU’s sororities, Alpha Phi, in their annual heart health awareness week, APHIASCO. This week will be devoted to raising money for heart health awareness and research, filled with different fundraising events throughout Harrisonburg. Come into Sweet Bee on Tuesday, February 21st or Chili’s on February 22nd to donate a portion of your meal cost to APHIASCO. Every weekend in October - November 5th and 6th, 2011.
10am-6pm on Saturdays, 12pm-6pm on Sundays

Head to the Hess Corn Maze for fun in the Shenandoah Valley during the fall season! Tons of fall activities are available throughout the month of October.  One that should not be missed is the Punkin’ Smashin’ Weekend. Bring your old jack-o-lantern and... destroy it! It is loads of fun and definitely makes use of old pumpkins.  This weekend is also the last time to see the harvest for the entire year! Visit the website for more information!
