Women In Defense of the World’s Ecosystems

5/6/2012

All over the world women are willing to fight for what they believe in. From the current situation with the war on women, to protecting delicate environments in which the world’s ecosystems are in danger, they are taking a stand. Women like Jane Goodall (the famous primatologist, whose Disney Film “Chimpanzee” is now in theaters), champion the right for everyone to have a safe environment to live in. This group of fierce individuals, who include: a Nobel Prize laureate, an orangutan expert, and a biologist, have worked very hard to protect our most precious natural resources. And have done womenkind a great service by prompting future generations of women to take charge in a cause they believe in. As the great Abigail Addams once said, “Remember the ladies!“

Name & Year: Phoebe Singer, 3rd Year (Junior)
Age: 21
Major: Theatre
Hometown: Studio City, California

Upon first meeting Phoebe Singer, you can tell there’s a real spark there. I’ve met some real actors in my time and with Phoebe, you know right away, she’s one of them. She’s got that serious feel about her that only fine theater actors posses. While still being a complete charm, and the life and joy of the party, complete with a real smart wit that would impress even Shakespeare. That’s why when you get an invitation to be part of a team project that’s putting on a play, on the epic scale of Julius Caesar, from the very talent herself, under no circumstance do you turn it down.
Given the manner in which Phoebe has handled herself in putting this entire thing together, (along with her other teammates and co-creators) from the inception of the project to the auditions, one can already tell this will be a once in a lifetime experience. It will be difficult, yes, but completely worth it; if only to be a part of something great and to be able to share it with your friends and colleagues as you say, “here’s something that was only an idea once, and we made it happen, we made something great”. And hopefully, the audience will agree.
