What is your full name? My name is Rachel Ahava Rosenfeld.
What is your major? I am a Studio Art major and I am minoring in Dance and Creative Writing.
Who is your celebrity crush? My celebrity crush would have to be Jim Morrison, but not in a creepy way, I swear!
What is your favorite thing about the art department? I love the art department because whenever I have a late-night project to do, I have departmental all-nighters with pancakes with my friends.
Where do you draw inspiration for your artwork? I get my inspiration everywhere! Some things that really inspire me are polaroids, wallpaper, the band Mumford and Sons, and drinking too much coffee! I also really like crazy graffiti artists.
Your dance for the Miss Hollins Pageant was really good! Do you dance for Hollins? Yes, I do dance for Hollins and so should you!
Do you have any nicknames? My friends call me Racheybear, because bear names make you special!
What is your favorite quote? My favorite quote would have to be, “It does not do to dwell on dreams alone and forget to live,” by Albus Dumbledore.
What is your ideal date? My ideal date would definitely be to watch all of the Lord of the Rings movies in one sitting while eating Italian food (*hint hint*).

   With the semester rapidly coming to a close, Hollins women are feverishly completing last-minute assignments, projects, and preparing for final exams. Finals week brings with it a slew of all-nighters and stress. However, this doesn’t mean that you can’t take a break to enjoy some of the final hurrahs going on this week at Hollins. I have carefully narrowed down the top five events happening this week on campus that you simply cannot miss!

What is your full name? Erica Elaine Smith
What is your hometown? Louisa, Virginia a small town located in between Charlottesville, and Richmond, VA.
What is your relationship status? I am in a relationship.
What is your major? Psychology, and this may sound a little biased but, it's one of the most interesting subjects out there.
What sort of independent studies did you do for the Psychology department? I researched and carried out an experiment on the negative effects of artificial sweeteners on memory. I am currently working on an in-depth portfolio of statistics, with a concentration on psychological research statistics.
Do you have any career plans for after graduation? I don't have anything specific lined up, but I do have quite a few things in mind. Whatever I end up doing will involving helping other people…that's what I enjoy doing most.
What has been your favorite Hollins experience? I like this question because I ask other people all the time. A lot of people jump straight to explaining their favorite traditions and events but the best thing I have experienced at Hollins is walking around campus where at certain times I've found myself overwhelmed with a feeling of knowing this is exactly where I'm supposed to be.
Where do you see yourself in ten years? Oh goodness. I like to look ahead but not that far ahead. I can say that I hope I'm doing something purposeful…that's a tough question.
What is one interesting fact about you that no one knows? If I told you then everyone would know…just kidding. I think a lot of people don't really know how introverted I can be sometimes.

 Recently, Hollins University students have become engulfed in the online meme sensation.  After a surge of Hollins-themed memes came onto the Facebook scene, students decided to make a group depicting typical Hollins experiences through memes.  While I usually resist everything technology and computer-oriented, I must admit that I have jumped on the meme bandwagon and even went so far as to make one myself.
      What makes Hollins memes unique is their direct application to everyday events all Hollins students encounter.  Whether it’s the treacherous walk to Siberia, the trials of senioritis, or the perils of cooking in the hill houses, everyone can relate to these hilarious pictures.  The best thing about the memes group is that anyone can submit a picture with their own captions.  After going to the meme-building website, students are able to choose a picture that best depicts their caption and type the text right onto the photo.  The meme can then be immediately posted on the group website and shared with others.
