Name: Vivian Ho Where are you most likely to be found: In front of a TV; I’m a complete TV nerd, especially for situation comedies. That or wasting hours at karaoke. Describe yourself in 3 words: Pretty freaking awesome. What is your ideal type of guy: Someone who doesn’t take himself too seriously, but at the same time knows how to throw a couple cultural references into everyday conversation without sounding pretentious. Celebrity example: Parks & Recreations’ Adam Scott or The Office’s BJ Novak. But can I cheat and also say Zayn Malik only because he’s so cute? What do you want to do career wise: Screenwriting. I would love to write for a TV comedy series. I like to think I’m witty enough to write for a show similar to Arrested Development or Community, but I think if I’m able to make a living off my writing I’ll consider it a huge win. Favorite thing to do: These days I’m addicted to Twitter. If you could have one super power what would it be and why: Telekinesis because it’s the only practical super power for someone as lazy as I am. Ideal first date:I don’t think I have one. As long as we can have a good conversation and maybe grab a coffee? |
Solve Your Housing Problems With Student Housing Services3/26/2012 |
As the school year is coming to an end, many of us may be thinking about our return next fall or maybe even considering summer school. Whether you live on residence or commute, the thought of where you want to live next year may be on your mind. This could mean moving out of your residence or home and opting for a place closer to school. With many options and no prior experience this can be a grueling task, especially when everyone is extremely busy this time of year. Luckily, our school offers a great service to help us with this problem!
The first step you can take to answer any of your questions about living on or off campus next year begins at the U of T Student Housing Services located at 214 College St., right next to the bookstore. If you are looking for a place located off campus, the Housing Service website has a program that lets you choose from a variety of options based on price, distance, and the numbers of current vacancies. They will also help you with asking the necessary questions that are often forgotten of not even realized by students who are renting for the first time. Or if you are looking to sublet your place for the summer, the people there can help you post your listing and talk about issues such as security deposits and showings. If you are looking into getting a place but are having trouble finding roommates, then no worries! The site also has an application called the roommate finder where you can compare your interests and needs with that of other students. The program is easy to use and lets you interact with your peers who may be looking for the same qualities as you are in a roommate. |
