6 Ways to Prep for Sex

3/5/2013

Ladies, we all know that MOST of the time sex is completely unexpected. In a way, we all crave the confusion and chaos unplanned sex entails. Imagine that you’re with your boyfriend or girlfriend and everything is getting hot and heavy. You’re about to have sex and then… BAM! A flood of thoughts rushes through your head about what you forgot to do before getting intimate with your partner. Well, here are 6 foolproof tips on how to prepare yourself before you have sex.

1.      Predict- The first most important rule before sex is to try to predict what will go on before, during and after your date. If you are anticipating sex you need to make sure what you need to wear, what you will be doing during the date and if you will even have sex afterwards. This key tip determines the whole outlook of your night.

2.      Dress Accordingly- If you are going to have sex, you need to dress accordingly. You don’t want to wear an outfit that has tons of buttons and zippers. Easy access is truly the key. Depending on the location of your date, you want to dress for comfort and ease. Ladies, if you could barely put the outfit on how do you expect your lover to take it off? For example, if your partner were to come over to your place, or vice versa, a dressy top that shows cleavage and skinny jeans would be perfect. The dressy top will add that hint of formality to your date with a bit of sex appeal while skinny jeans will showcase your curves. This outfit leaves your partner imagining what they will be seeing later.

6 Spring Trends for Every Body Type

4/15/2012

Springtime is here! Despite the frigid 50 degree weather in our lovely town of Indiana, everyone is dressing for the soon to come warm weather. Around campus, it seems like every woman is wearing her spring best! There are patterned dresses, crop jeans, pastel colored cardigans and fashionable tank tops. Spring is the season for collegiate women to come out of their winter shell and come to life in the warm (or slightly warm) sunshine. The question is, how do you start wearing spring clothing when you’ve been trapped in winter gear for months? How do you even know what the trends are for spring? Last but definitely not least, what types of clothing look great on your body? Here are the latest 6 spring fashion trends that will flatter EVERY figure.

·         Patterned Dresses- A big trend this season is the patterned dress. This season ANY pattern is in especially florals. When looking for a dress, make sure you follow the rules for your figure. If you’re busty make sure you try going for a sweetheart neckline to emphasize your features. If you’re curvy, make sure to emphasize your waist by getting a wrap dress or wearing a fashionable belt. Also make sure to avoid BIG patterns. They will make you look bigger than you actually are and take attention away from the entire outfit. If you’re small chested and slim have fun with prints! You can virtually wear any print you want*.

The Collegiette's Guide to: Sexual Health

4/6/2012

Ladies, as we all know college is the prime time for sexual experimentation. There are a vast amount of girls who use this time in their life as “the highlight of their sexual career”. As a first year student, I have noticed that most of the girls that I have encountered are very promiscuous. In today’s time, promiscuity is looked upon as a social standard, especially for young women in college.

Young women are expected to dress up in mini dresses, bear massive amounts of cleavage, go to a frat party and have sex with almost any guy they have encountered. If they decide to go all the way, do they know how to protect their sexual health? Can these women tell if their partner has a sexually transmitted disease (STD)? What are the signs of an STD? What are the common sexual myths? Here are some statistics, myths and STD warning signs to help you protect yourself and your partner.

STD’s- The most important part of sexual health is to know what an STD is. An STD is a sexually transmitted disease transmitted between two partners during vaginal, anal or oral intercourse. One in every four-college students has an STD while only 54 percent of students use condoms during vaginal intercourse*. Ladies, no matter what time of day it is make sure you always have a condom with you. Condoms prevent 98% of pregnancy but they FULLY prevent STD’s.  The most common STD’s that spread throughout any college campus are Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), chlamydia and genital herpes*.

·         Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) is a common cause of genital warts that eventually leads to cervical cancer. It is an incurable virus that has absolutely NO symptoms and is spread through skin-to-skin contact.

A Collegiette's Guide to Clear Beautiful Skin

3/20/2012

As a young woman, I feel that the most important asset to having confidence is clear and healthy skin. I have struggled with cystic acne for a few years and have tried skin regiments and medicines to help clear my acne. I couldn’t find any product that would suit my routine or KEEP my skin clear until I discovered the following 5 tips.

1)     Drink Water*- Doctors recommend drinking a minimum of 8, 8 oz. glasses of water a day. Drinking water promotes healthy kidney and liver functions by flushing the toxins out of your body. Having 8, 8 oz. glasses of water a day promotes healthy liver and kidney function and as an added bonus water hydrates your skin from the inside out. This is the most important beauty tip!

2)     Moisturize- Year 'round (especially in the Winter) it is a NECESSITY to keep your skin soft and healthy. If you find yourself with flakes or dry patches it is because cold air pulls nearly almost all of the moisture out of your skin. To achieve moisturized skin, it is best to moisturize your face right when you get out of the shower.
