Call me a Nerdy McNerdovich all you want, but I, as well as many others around college campuses everywhere, am VERY excited to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 premiere tonight at midnight!
While some of the Western Michigan University students celebrate Oberon Day, which is very near and dear to our Kalamazoo hearts, some students celebrate a more spiritual holiday. And no, I’m not talking about getting drunk in the spirit- I’m talking about the Big Man upstairs himself.
Have you ever thought that was something missing in your life? Felt like you wanted more?
Many people go to college with the cliché of “finding yourself” or going on a journey asking questions of why. Or perhaps you made of list of things you wanted to do before you die.
Cross- checking, puck shooting, rough and tough hockey players hit the ice this past weekend sporting pink jerseys, pink laces in their skates, and pink tape on their sticks. That’s right, pink. It was the third annual “Hockey Cares” weekend at Western Michigan University’s Lawson Ice Arena, an event to spread awareness about breast cancer and cancer as a whole.
Lent. For some it is just another word. Another day. Another Christian holiday. No biggie. Let’s move on with our lives.
But for others, it means much more.
